Tekla came from a small, excellent kennel in Southern Sweden (Bjärnarps Kennel). We met Monika Pettersson, who owned the kennel together with her husband Lars, during a dog exhibition in Malmö. We were looking around at various breeds, just beginning to think how it would be to share life with such a magnificent, kind creature as the irish wolfhound. Monika was extremely helpful and kind and it is perhaps thanks to her that we decided to look at the puppies. You know what happened then - no one is able to resists a puppy! Thanks to Monika`s patience we were allowed to visit the puppies almost every week, trying to figure out which one agreed best with our personalities. Very soon we decided for Tekla and we were lucky to be able to take her home! As you can see there were many distinguished champions in her family. Tekla (Bjärnarps Embla) was born on 11th of March 2000, she has three brothers and five sisters.

Tekla died on October 3rd 2005, not even 24 hours after competing in LC in Målilla. It is very difficult to understand how a dog with her exceptional health and physical condition could die so extremely fast despite immediate treatment. But that is what happenend, after 16 hours at Malmö Animal Hospital, Tekla died only 5.5 years old. The diagnosis provided by the veterinarian was lung inflammation.

We will never forget this fantastic dog and we will be crying over her for many months to come...

Octan came from a very special kennel - Warlock's. We have waited for him for a while but it was definitely worth it. Octan is a true jewel - both because of his looks and most importantly because of his amazing personality. He is a true wolfhound - adapts very fast to every situation with peace and dignity, he is extremely brave. Loves people, large and small. He is a great companion and formed a wonderful friendship with Tekla. He makes us happy every day. We have met both his parents and now we understand from whom he got his great personality. Octan has been the top Swedish LC wolfhound both 2004 and 2006. He is Swedish and Norwegian LC champion as well as Swedish Conformation Champion.

Octans eyes were professionally checked by a veterinarian at age of 21 months - they are in perfect condition (utan anmärkning). Octans heart was investigated with ultrasound at age of 25 months (ultrasound) and 4 years (ultrasounds and EKG) and both times it was found to be in a very good condition.

We found Ania all the way in Switzerland. When Tekla died we felt that we really needed a new companion for us and for Octan. We found that only two days after Teklas death puppies were born in Switzerland at kennel Cnock Greina. Puppies mother Mini resembles very much Tekla and both parents are related to Octan. Somehow it felt like destiny and we are very happy that Nadine trusted us with one of her precious puppies. To import a puppy from outside EU was a bit tricky but we managed and Ania joined us in December 2005. She shows great promise for LC as she is already huting everything that moves. She is also very brave and loves all people she meets. It already appears that Ania will be as intelligent and communicative as Tekla and as brave and tough as Octan.
